Sustainability
At Nassimi, sustainability is a core tenet that is built into product development alongside performance, durability, and design. Guided by our philosophy of purpose and outperformance, every material is developed to meet a clear functional need while improving upon the environmental and chemical profile of conventional alternatives used in contract interiors. We believe sustainability should not require compromise. Products must perform beautifully, meet rigorous technical standards, and contribute to healthier, more responsible spaces.
Sustainability Alignment
Our approach centers on material health, responsible chemistry, and long-term performance in demanding environments such as hospitality, healthcare, or workplace interiors. This includes the removal of phthalates, biocides, and chemical flame retardants across key product platforms, PFAS-free technologies, responsible sourcing and manufacturing, and next-generation material development. Sustainability is not a separate initiative, but part of how we define product excellence.

Transparency and verification are essential. All products are tested through independent third-party laboratories for performance, compliance, and environmental criteria relevant to the contract textiles industry. Technical data, compliance documentation, and environmental information are made readily available to support informed specification and procurement decisions. Nassimi also publishes an annual Sustainability Report outlining our material priorities, testing standards, and measurable progress.
Sustainability in Practice
Hyphyn™: Rethinking the Future of Vinyl
Hyphyn is the world’s first and only upholstery vinyl proven to biodegrade over 90% within two years in landfill conditions, verified through independent laboratory testing under ASTM D5511 conditions. Developed over more than five years of research, Hyphyn was created to address one of the industry’s longest-standing environmental challenges: the permanence of vinyl waste. It delivers the durability, cleanability, and performance expected of high-performance upholstery while significantly reducing long-term environmental persistence.
Supreen®: PFAS Free Performance Without Compromise
Supreen was developed to solve a long-standing challenge in performance textiles: achieving true liquid barrier protection without sacrificing softness, comfort, or design. Unlike conventional performance upholstery fabrics that often rely on fluorinated chemistry, Supreen delivers total liquid barrier protection and exceptional cleanability with PFAS-free performance technology. Designed for demanding healthcare, hospitality, and high-traffic interiors, it combines a luxurious hand with contract-grade performance.
A History of Firsts
Nassimi has long believed that leadership means challenging conventional assumptions and setting higher standards for the industry. Many of the practices that are now expected in performance textiles began as deliberate decisions to do things differently.
  • First faux leather company to eliminate phthalates across all product platforms, advancing material health without compromising performance
  • First performance upholstery fabric to deliver PFAS-free protection against both water-based and oil-based stains, redefining stain resistance without fluorinated chemistry
  • First contract faux leather company to eliminate additive flame-retardant chemicals across all product platforms, supporting healthier interior environments
Compliance and Transparency
Nassimi materials are developed to support the performance, health, and sustainability expectations of the contract interiors market. Products are tested to relevant ACT performance guidelines and evaluated through independent third-party laboratories for durability, cleanability, chemical compliance, and environmental performance. Supporting documentation, including technical data sheets, environmental disclosures, and compliance information, is available to assist architects, designers, specifiers, and procurement teams in making informed material selections.
